College Inn plans up for scrutiny

• Boaters will soon be able to wash the sands off their legs. Mayor Teunis Westbroek urged staff to replace the water tap at the ramp, which was taken away when the Beach Hut renovation went ahead.
• Convening for Action on Vancouver Island (CAVI) is going from strength to strength. Barry Avis said the new group, which is looking at water sustainability issues on Vancouver Island, met in Nanaimo last week and will meet in a week from now in Duncan.
• Qualicum Beach residents with an interest in the planned hotel and condominium project at the site of the old College Inn will have an opportunity to see what plans are in the works at a special public meeting on Oct. 3. The meeting, to be held at the inn itself, will kick off at 4 p.m.
